Project Dispatch: Delivering Two 20ft Storage Containers in Standish, ME (04084)
When you tear into a residential garage renovation, the biggest immediate problem isn’t the demo—it’s figuring out where everything living inside the garage is going to go.
From lawn tractors, snowblowers, and seasonal tires to workbenches, power tools, and framing lumber, you cannot simply haul gas-powered machinery and dusty gear into the living room. Tarping it in the yard leaves it vulnerable to rain, dew, and theft.
This week, the Abco Rental & Storage, Inc. team delivered two 20-foot ground-level storage containers to a residential property in Standish, ME (04084) to solve that staging puzzle before the framing and electrical crews arrived.
Storage Container Rental Project Overview
- Location: Standish, ME 04084
- Application: Residential Garage Expansion & Remodel
- Equipment: Two (2) 20ft Ground-Level Conex Storage Containers
- Security Level: Heavy-duty Corten steel with enclosed lockbox housings
- Placement: Parallel positioning along the gravel parking apron
Why Two Containers for One Garage Project?
Renting two 20-foot units instead of trying to cram everything into one large box gives both the homeowner and the general contractor breathing room. It divides the jobsite into two functional zones:
- Homeowner Clearing Zone (Unit 1): The garage contents—patio furniture, power equipment, storage totes, and family gear—moved directly into the first container. It stays locked, clean, and out of the way for the duration of the build.
- Contractor Staging Vault (Unit 2): The building crew uses the second box as their secure tool shed and material shelter. It holds chop saws, pneumatic nailers, insulation bundles, and finish trim where coastal dampness and wind cannot reach them.
Delivery & Placement on a Standish Parcel
Access on rural Cumberland County roads often involves winding driveways, soft shoulders, and roadside tree canopy. Our driver coordinated with the homeowner beforehand to ensure proper overhead clearance and a stable gravel foundation.
Both units were set down level at ground height using timber cribbing under the corner castings. This keeps the steel off damp ground, ensures the double doors swing freely without binding, and allows easy walk-in access without needing awkward ramps or steps.
With both containers locked in place, the garage bays are completely empty and ready for floor coating, framing alterations, and new overhead door installation.
