Abco Rental & Storage, IncAbco Rental & Storage, Inc. recently completed the delivery of a heavy-duty 40-foot portable storage container to an active residential construction site in Freeport, Maine.
Precision delivery requires careful dispatch coordination. Following initial dispatch staging at 10:12 AM, our transport team scheduled the on-site drop for an afternoon arrival window to accommodate ongoing construction traffic and site preparation.
To ensure optimal accessibility upon placement, the 40-foot container was loaded “doors to cab.” This rigging configuration allowed our driver to position the unit precisely on the property with the cargo doors facing directly toward the access drive, eliminating tight perimeter navigation for loading crews and keeping the entry clear of mud and unfinished landscaping.
Protecting Interior Furnishings and Materials
During the final phases of a custom residential build, general contractors and homeowners face the challenge of coordinating interior deliveries. High-end furnishings, lighting fixtures, cabinetry, and finish materials frequently arrive before the home is fully finished and ready for move-in.
Placing a weather-tight, ground-level 40ft steel container on site provides:
- Security: Heavy-duty, lockable steel cargo doors protect high-value furnishings from theft and unauthorized access.
- Weather Resistance: Complete protection against Maine’s coastal rain, wind, and humidity.
- Convenience: Level walk-in access keeps heavy furniture out of active interior work zones where trade dust, paint, and foot traffic can cause damage.
