Abco Rental & Storage, IncWhen mechanical projects run for months at a time, having a secure, accessible staging area on-site isn’t optional—it’s how jobs stay on schedule.
Recently, Abco Rental & Storage, Inc. delivered a 20-foot ground-level storage container to the Portland Water Districtin Portland, Maine. The container was brought in to support Johnson & Jordan, a leading mechanical contractor handling a comprehensive, year-long infrastructure project at the facility.
Safe, On-Site Storage for Long-Term Utility Work
Municipal utility locations are busy, high-security job sites with constant crew and vehicle movement. Over a 12-month timeline, mechanical contractors work with an extensive inventory of specialized tools, valves, pipe fittings, and high-value equipment.
Transporting tools back and forth to an off-site warehouse wastes billable hours and burns fuel. Staging materials out in the open, on the other hand, risks weather damage and theft.
Our standard 20ft container gave Johnson & Jordan a practical, dependable solution right where they need it:
- Compact Footprint: At 20 feet long and 8 feet wide, the container fits neatly into the active yard space without blocking plant operations, utility trucks, or access gates.
- Ground-Level Access: Crews can easily step in and carry materials and pipe assemblies in and out without dealing with stairs, ramps, or lift equipment.
- Weatherproof All-Steel Construction: Maine weather is unpredictable across a full calendar year. Heavy snow, coastal rain, and summer heat won’t compromise the dry, secure interior.
- Job-Site Security: Equipped with an integrated lockbox, the container protects expensive tools and parts overnight and over long weekends.
